The Byrd residence: The clients built an addition with no windows on the front and wanted to create a balance with the rest of the house. See full view. I painted these trompe l'oeil windows and flower boxes on MDF boards that are removable so they can change with the seasons. The summer flowers correspond with their gardens. Due to lack of colorful foliage in the Maryland winters, we had fun with critters instead. Squeaky, their 17 year old cat, appears in the summer window but, alas, died shortly thereafter. So young Max took her place in the winter scene.
